Cantillana's standard masonry mortars are developed to meet the strictest technical requirements. The choice of the right mortar is determined by two crucial factors: the compressive strength and the water absorption (IW class) of the chosen brick.
To guarantee the reliability of our products, we work according to the principle of 'performance-based masonry mortar'. This means that our mortars are not simply mixed, but are extensively tested for their mechanical properties, both internally and by external bodies.
The interaction between the brick and the mortar determines the adhesion and the final strength of the masonry. Cantillana offers masonry mortars based on the initial water absorption (IW class) of the brick:
1. Normal to highly absorbent bricks (IW3 and IW4)
2. Very low to moderately absorbent bricks (IW1 and IW2)
