Silomur 8/2 Masonry Mortar & Joint'in Pointing Mortar for New Don Bosco School in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw
In Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, construction company Keulen (class 7) has completed a modern new building for the Don Bosco school on the site of a former monastery. For the masonry and pointing mortar of the facades, the contractor relied on the expertise and products of Cantillana.
The Challenge & Solution
The main challenge lay in achieving perfect color harmony for the facade. The pointing mortar needed to match the bricks and window profiles. Cantillana provided the solution with its Joint'in pointing mortar in two specific colors:
- Sand White (2139): A refined color from the standard range for a tone-on-tone match with the beige bricks.
- Custom Green: A unique color, precisely recreated in the lab based on the RAL color of the window profiles.
Fast application on site: Joint'in is a ready-to-use pointing mortar. Only water needs to be added on-site, which ensures consistent quality and a high pace of work.
Silomur 8/2 was used as the masonry mortar. This is a dry, ready-to-use masonry mortar with a 0/2 mm grain size, suitable for bricks with normal to high absorption, delivered in a silo. Super convenient!
The Result
Thanks to the tone-on-tone pointing, the facade and the building's details form a single fluid, harmonious whole.
"Cantillana's products are of excellent quality, and our collaboration has been going very well for years," says Mike, site manager at Keulen. Dirk Gevers, technical advisor at Cantillana, adds: "Whether it is a color from our standard range of 28 colors or a unique custom order, we ensure that the customer's vision becomes reality."
