Mur 12 DSM SPS as a through-joint mortar for a new residential complex in the green Dungelhoeff area in Lier
As part of the redevelopment of the Dungelhoeff site in Lier, in addition to the Social Services building, a public car park beneath the Paradeplein, and the development of a public domain on the site, a private real estate section was also built. For this, contractor Cordeel Hoeselt and property developer Matexi entered into a partnership. The site includes a residential complex, designed by Met Zicht Op Zee Architecten, consisting of around 140 residential units, including the Dungelhoeff residential care centre, a large park, and urban offices.
To integrate the Dungelhoeff residential care centre beautifully into the tranquil surroundings, Met Zicht Op Zee Architecten chose a beige facing brick, Karmeliet, from brick manufacturer Desta. For the masonry work, Cantillana’s Colour Advice Service developed a tone-on-tone (3743) through-joint mortar that matches the beige facing brick. In collaboration with Cordeel Hoeselt, Cantillana supplied Mur 12 DSM SPS through-joint mortar – M10 according to EN 988-2 – directly to the site in silo.
Mur 12 DSM SPS is recommended for low and very low absorbent brick types (IW1/IW2 classes), such as the Karmeliet brick.
