De Boslaantjes, Waalre: Sustainable Living by the Lake
Since the end of 2021, the municipality of Waalre has gained a remarkable new residential area. De Boslaantjes is a low-traffic, green neighborhood consisting of 58 homes, ranging from detached houses and patio bungalows to semi-detached homes. The project, designed by Cier Architecten BV, is fully focused on the future, with a strong emphasis on a minimal ecological footprint.
Each home is energy-neutral with an impressive EPC score of 0.0. To achieve this, they are equipped with ground-source heat pumps, solar panels, and advanced ventilation systems with heat recovery (HRV).
Aesthetics and Quality in Masonry Work
Construction company Van Grunsven carried out the masonry work with the utmost precision. To extend the neighborhood’s sustainable vision into the appearance of the façades, a combination of various facing bricks and Cantillana’s high-quality mortars was chosen.
For laying the facing bricks, Masonry Mortar MM 104 M 10 was used. The aesthetic finish was provided by three specific colors of Joint Mortar VH 35, each perfectly matching the selected bricks:
- Tacana (Caprice): A grey-black sintered brick, pointed with VH 35 color 765 (Mouse Grey).
- Osorno (Caprice): A grey sintered brick, combined with VH 35 color 772 (Silver Grey).
- Flemming (Vandersanden): A dark brown brick, finished with VH 35 color 800 (Basalt Grey).
Certified Assurance
In the Dutch construction market, quality is an absolute requirement. The applied Joint Mortar VH 35 (strength class M 15 according to EN 998-2) holds the KOMO certificate. This quality mark guarantees that the mortar meets the strictest technical requirements and is resistant to Dutch weather conditions.
For optimal efficiency on the construction site, Cantillana delivered all products directly to the site in silos, contributing to a clean and logistically streamlined working environment.
