Contemporary aesthetics in Bonheiden: The perfect harmony between brick and joint
In green Bonheiden, a stylish private residence provides the setting for a beautiful interplay of high-quality materials and craftsmanship. This project focused on a sleek, modern appearance, with the façade and ceilings flowing seamlessly into one another.
Ultima RT162 as facing brick
For the façade, the Ultima RT162 by Heylen Ceramics was chosen. This brick is known for its slender, elongated shape and distinctive texture, giving the home a horizontal and elegant line pattern.
A total of no less than 420 m² of facing bricks was used, complemented by 55 m² of brick slips. Thanks to the use of brick slips, the façade finish could be extended flawlessly into the ceilings, creating a monolithic and luxurious appearance.
Joint’in S: Technology meets aesthetics
The choice of joint mortar was crucial in reinforcing the minimalist design. The selected product was Joint’in S by Cantillana in the colour Extra White.
Joint’in S is a high-quality, coloured joint mortar with strength class M15, suitable for joint widths between 8 and 12 mm. Thanks to its super fine grain, this mortar is ideally suited for achieving a perfectly smooth joint finish.
Although Joint’in S is available in 28 standard colours, the colour Extra White was used here to create a beautiful whole with the white facing brick. For this project, Cantillana supplied a total of 4,500 kg of material.
