Joint'in - Les Promenades d'Uccle

Les Promenades d'Uccle: A new neighborhood in the heart of nature

In Uccle, directly bordering the protected Natura 2000 area, the new neighborhood Les Promenades d'Uccle achieves a unique balance between modern urban living and respect for nature. This large-scale project on Engelandstraat brings high-quality architecture to one of the greenest locations in the Brussels metropolitan area.

Urban vision and design

Les Promenades d'Uccle is the result of a strong collaboration between Besix Red and Matexi. The architectural firm A2RC Architecten designed a diverse neighborhood consisting of 60 houses and 238 apartments and penthouses. The neighborhood was designed with a strong focus on tranquility; parking is largely underground in order to leave as much above-ground space as possible to nature and the residents.

Aesthetics and technology hand in hand

For the realization of the façades, materials were selected that reinforce the contemporary appearance of the project. For the joint mortar, Joint'in was chosen, the water-repellent M15 mortar for joint widths of 8 to 12 mm:

  • Joint'in for the perfect finish: To fully highlight the grey-white color nuances of the Polaris facing brick (Floren), Joint'in joint mortar in color 2011 (light grey) was selected. This joint mortar creates a refined and uniform façade appearance.
  • Silomix: The contractor Jacques Delens (Besix Group) used the Silomix service. By delivering the mortars in silos, consistent quality is guaranteed and the construction site remains efficient and well-organized, which is essential for a project of this scale.
